Flooring FAQs
The schedule depends on measured area, occupied-space logistics, demolition, substrate repair, moisture conditions, material acclimation, layout, transitions, and cure requirements. We set the sequence after field review.
Engineered hardwood is more stable in Texas's humidity swings and can be installed over concrete. Solid hardwood is thicker and can be refinished more times but requires wood subfloors. For most DFW homes, we recommend engineered.
LVP (Luxury Vinyl Plank) offers excellent durability, is waterproof, and today's premium options look remarkably realistic. It's ideal for families with kids/pets or for wet areas. However, high-quality hardwood still adds more resale value and has a warmer, more authentic feel.
Yes, we can move most furniture as part of the project. Large items like pianos, pool tables, or extremely heavy pieces may require specialty movers. We'll discuss this during your estimate.
We try our best to match existing floors, but exact matches aren't always possible—especially with discontinued products or aged hardwood. We can refinish your entire hardwood floor for a uniform look, or install transition strips where different floors meet.
